Tinder brings its #MySafeSpace consent and safe-dating campaign to Ibiza

A workshop on 7 July with the Aspacia Foundation and local group ALAS will cover consent, online safety and spotting red flags.

The dating app Tinder is bringing its #MySafeSpace campaign to Ibiza this summer, with a workshop on consent, safe dating and healthy relationships.

The initiative

#MySafeSpace ¡Mójate! is a joint project between Tinder, the Aspacia Foundation and ALAS, a local organisation in Ibiza. Its aim is to encourage open conversations about consent, digital safety and respect, particularly among people who meet through dating apps.

Why Ibiza

Every summer the island brings together large numbers of young people — visitors, seasonal workers and residents — many of whom meet new people through apps and on nights out. The organisers see it as the right place to talk about how to keep those encounters safe.

The event

The workshop takes place on 7 July at The Standard hotel in Ibiza. It will bring together experts, journalists and young people from the island for a participatory session, followed by an informal brunch.

Who is involved

  • Tinder will explain the safety tools built into the app and its approach to consent.
  • The Aspacia Foundation works on preventing gender-based violence and promoting healthy relationships.
  • ALAS contributes a local perspective, with a focus on young people and the community in Ibiza.

The topics

  • What consent means, online and in person.
  • Staying safe on dating apps and social media.
  • Building trust and respect in new relationships.
  • Recognising warning signs and where to go for help.

Practical advice for meeting someone new

  • Meet for the first time in a public place.
  • Tell a friend where you are going and who you are meeting.
  • Arrange your own transport so you can leave when you want.
  • Keep an eye on your drink.
  • Trust your instincts: if something feels wrong, leave.

In an emergency in Spain, call 112. The national helpline for victims of gender violence, 016, is free, confidential and available in several languages, and does not appear on phone bills.
