Tips for the weekend
- Drink regularly and carry water with you.
- Plan outdoor activities for the morning or evening.
- Avoid intense exercise in the middle of the day when warnings are in force.
- Eat light, choosing water-rich foods such as watermelon, cucumber and salads.
- Keep your home cool: close blinds during the day and ventilate at night.
- Check Aemet’s warnings, which can change from day to day.
Warm nights
The warm nights are one of the most tiring aspects of a long heatwave, making it harder to sleep and recover. Fans, cool showers before bed and keeping bedrooms dark during the day can help. Older people living alone should be checked on regularly.
