Graviteo Skate Race: skate the Formula 1 track at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

On 19 July skaters of all levels can race 5 km or 10 km on the 4.7 km circuit, with medals, prize money and age categories.

Skaters will have the chance to race on the same asphalt as Formula 1 and MotoGP stars at the Graviteo Skate Race, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 19 July as part of the Graviteo Urban Sports Festival.

The race

  • Date: Sunday 19 July
  • Start: 10am (bib collection from 9am)
  • Distances: 5 km, ideal for beginners, and 10 km
  • Categories: under-11, under-15 and absolute, each with men’s and women’s divisions

The circuit

The track is 4,727 metres long, with a 1,047-metre main straight, a width of 11–12 metres, nine right-hand and five left-hand bends, a maximum gradient of 6% and a total elevation change of almost 30 metres. Riding the same corners as the world’s top drivers and riders is a big part of the appeal.

Safety

Helmets are compulsory for all participants. The finish area will be divided into two lanes with cones to separate faster and slower skaters.

Prizes

  • Under-11 and under-15: medals for the top three in the 10 km race.
  • Absolute 10 km: prize money for the top five.
Position Prize
1st €600
2nd €400
3rd €250
4th €150
5th €100

The first 1,000 people to register will receive an official event T-shirt.

Who can take part

The race is open to skaters of all levels, from children and families looking for a fun day out to experienced skaters aiming for a podium. As in a popular marathon, everyone can set their own goal.

Registration

Registration is online through the festival’s website. Signing up early guarantees a place and the free T-shirt.

For skaters from the Balearics, the event offers a rare opportunity: there is no circuit of this kind on the islands, and skating a full Formula 1 lap is an experience few will forget.
