Oussama Chefraou El Metmary has announced that he is leaving Gasifred Atlético, the Ibiza futsal club, after almost three years.
His time in Ibiza
The Moroccan winger joined the club in January 2024 and quickly became a fan favourite, known for his pace on the wing and his ability to create chances. After adapting to a new league, a new team and a new environment, he became an important player for coach José Fernández.
Last season he played 29 official matches and scored eight goals, often as a starter. Team-mates and coaches described him as a fundamental piece of the squad, valued for the width he provided in attack and his willingness to help in defence.
His farewell
In a message on social media, Oussama said a wonderful stage of his life was coming to an end after practically three years, during which he had grown and learned a lot, both as a player and above all as a person.
He thanked his team-mates, the coaching staff, the club’s directors and the fans, who he said had never stopped encouraging and supporting the team in good times and bad. He signed off with: “Thank you for everything. Forza Gasifred!”
He said he leaves with a heart full of memories, friendships and experiences, but did not give details of his next club.
What next for Gasifred
Oussama is the first confirmed departure from the squad for next season. The club’s sporting management and coach are already working on finding replacements and adjusting the squad.
The club is coming off one of the best seasons in its history, and keeping that momentum will depend on how well it rebuilds over the summer — starting with finding a winger capable of filling the gap Oussama leaves behind.
