Friday will be sunny across Mallorca but breezy, with a fresh to strong wind from the north or north-east. It is the calm before a hotter spell: the state meteorological agency, Aemet, says a mass of hot, dry air from Africa will push temperatures up over the coming days.
The outlook
- Sunday: conditions begin to resemble a heatwave across the island.
- Monday to Wednesday: the hottest days, especially inland, with up to 38°C possible on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Later in the week: a slight easing is possible, although some areas will stay hot.
A heatwave has not been formally declared, but the forecast points to several days of high temperatures.

Tips for the coming days
- Drink water regularly, even if you are not thirsty.
- Use sun cream of at least SPF 30 and reapply it often; the breeze can make it feel cooler than it is.
- Secure parasols and towels on the beach while the wind is strong.
- Plan exercise and outdoor activities for the morning or evening.
