Real Mallorca supporters have reacted angrily to the club’s season ticket prices for the coming campaign, which are only about 14% lower than last season’s despite relegation to the Segunda División.
The prices
Season tickets went on sale online at midday on Monday 29 June. Many fans had expected a much larger reduction — around 50% — like the one Girona offered its supporters after going down.
What other clubs have done
- Girona cut season ticket prices by around half after relegation.
- Oviedo, also in the Segunda División, sold all 25,000 of their season tickets for 2026/27 within hours after cutting prices by roughly 35%.
Against that background, Mallorca’s modest discount has left many fans feeling the club has not recognised the new reality.
“Downright rude”
Criticism has flooded social media. A common complaint is that relegation was the result of decisions by the club’s management, yet it is the fans who are being asked to pay. One local commentator described using supporters’ loyalty as a financial cushion as unfair — and even “downright rude”.
For many families, a season ticket at Son Moix is a significant expense, and renewing it is a statement of loyalty to the club through bad times as well as good.
The transfer market
The club has started to rebuild its squad. Its first signing is Adrián Fuentes, a 29-year-old striker born in Madrid, who scored 14 goals for Córdoba last season after a spell in Croatia. The club has also been in talks with Sampdoria about Estanis Pedrola, a 22-year-old Catalan winger who spent last season on loan at Las Palmas.
Goalkeeper Leo Román is leaving for newly promoted Deportivo de La Coruña in a deal reported to be worth around €9 million.
The season ahead
Mallorca will begin the 2026/27 season in mid-August at home to Valladolid. Bouncing straight back will not be easy: Oviedo and Almería are considered among the favourites for promotion, and the Segunda División is notoriously hard to escape.
The ticket row adds to the pressure on the club’s owners at a time when they will need the support of Son Moix more than ever.
