O Beach Ibiza gymnastics club heads to Huesca for the Spanish aesthetic group championship

Former national champions, the Ibiza group will perform a fast, cheerful routine in Flintstones-inspired leotards.

The O Beach Ibiza Gimnástica club is travelling to Huesca to compete in the Spanish Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Championship, aiming to return to the podium.

The team

The group is made up of:

  • Ada Mediero
  • Ainara Martín
  • Pilar de la Cruz
  • Sofía Carreño
  • Valentina Opuzska

They are coached by Paola Salsoso, who has focused on creativity and precision in preparing the routine.

The routine

The choreography is described as modern, cheerful and explosive, with fast movements designed to showcase the gymnasts’ strength, flexibility and coordination. In a playful touch, their leotards are inspired by The Flintstones, with bright colours and details intended to catch the eye of the judges and the audience.

A strong record

The Ibiza club has a recent history of success at national level:

  • 2024, Pamplona: gold medal and Spanish champions.
  • 2025, Ourense: silver, just a few tenths of a point behind the winners.

The goal

This year, the club hopes to confirm its place among the elite of Spanish aesthetic group gymnastics and fight for the podium again.

What is aesthetic group gymnastics?

Aesthetic group gymnastics is a discipline in which teams of gymnasts perform a routine to music, combining body movements, balances, jumps, flexibility and synchronised group work. Unlike rhythmic gymnastics, it does not use apparatus, and the emphasis is on the flow and harmony of the group’s movement as a whole.

For a club from Ibiza, competing at the top level requires considerable effort from gymnasts, coaches and families, including frequent travel to the mainland. Whatever the result in Huesca, the club has established itself as one of the leading teams in the country.
