The exhibition hall at Cas Contramestre in Fornells is showing Sincronies, a collective exhibition by seven artists, which opens on Tuesday at 7pm and runs until 5 July.
Opening hours
- Monday to Friday: 6pm to 9pm.
- Saturday and Sunday: 11am to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm.
Admission is free.
The artists
Armand Escandell shows linocuts with a surreal touch and monotypes — unique prints — dominated by plant forms.
Joana Escandell presents abstract work in oil and watercolour, exploring colour and form without representing recognisable objects.
Mònica Escandell contributes ceramic sculptures and small works in acrylic, watercolour and pencil, built around splashes of colour and fluid lines.
Sílvia Escandell exhibits documentary photographs of streets, people and places from her travels, along with some ceramic pieces.
Toni Gomila shows what he calls “framed sculptures”: shallow reliefs that project from the wall, made entirely from materials he recycles.
Beti Martínez presents symbolic drawings and watercolours, as well as a small installation.
Marta Sales, a marine biologist who studies Mediterranean seaweeds around Menorca, contributes drawings in coloured markers of fish, algae and underwater scenes — her scientific work and her art feeding each other.
The collective
The Sincronies group was formed in 2024 with a first exhibition at Ca n’Ángel in Es Mercadal, followed by a second show there the next year. After Fornells, the collective will exhibit at the Es Soleiet hall in Es Castell until August, and will return to Ca n’Ángel in November with completely new work.
Why it’s worth a visit
The appeal of the show lies in its variety: printmaking, painting, ceramics, photography, recycled sculpture and scientific illustration share the same space, each artist offering a different way of looking at the world — from inner emotions to street life and the seabed. With free entry and evening opening hours, it is an easy stop for anyone visiting Fornells on a summer evening.
