Dua Lipa has shared images from her wedding to the actor Callum Turner, revealing a Chanel couture gown that took more than 1,000 hours to make.
Two celebrations
The couple married in a private civil ceremony in London on 31 May, followed in early June by a larger celebration at Villa Valguarnera, an 18th-century villa near Palermo in Sicily, sometimes nicknamed “Little Versailles” for its gardens and grand architecture.
Dua Lipa shared photos and videos from the weekend with her tens of millions of Instagram followers.
The dress
The singer chose a Chanel haute couture gown designed by Matthieu Blazy, the house’s creative director, who previously led Bottega Veneta and worked at Maison Margiela.
- Around 480,000 beads were embroidered by hand by the Paris workshop Atelier Montex.
- More than 1,000 hours of work went into the dress.
- The two-metre train is finished with 25,000 feathers.
- The six-metre tulle veil features beadwork, feathers and hand-cut appliqués.
- Bespoke white satin shoes by Massaro, Chanel’s shoemaker, completed the look.
The rest of the weekend
At a welcome party in Palermo, she wore a white leather dress by Bottega Veneta, and for the brunch after the wedding she chose a sheer design by Chloé. Callum Turner wore made-to-measure Louis Vuitton.
Why it drew so much attention
Dua Lipa has long-standing relationships with major fashion houses, so her bridal look was one of the most anticipated fashion moments of the year. The choice of Chanel, in one of Blazy’s first major couture commissions for the house, made the dress a talking point well beyond her fan base.
The couple, who have been together since early 2024, announced their engagement in 2025.
