Mallorca Global Tournament: golf, food and networking at Golf Maioris

The first "18 holes, 18 brands" tournament drew 92 players, with each hole sponsored by a company and a raffle worth over €10,000.

The first Mallorca Global Tournament, under the slogan “18 holes, 18 brands”, brought 92 players to Golf Maioris in Llucmajor on 21 February for a day combining sport, gastronomy and business networking.

The idea

Each of the 18 holes was linked to a different company, giving players the chance to discover brands from sectors including air travel, home and leisure, cars, hotels, health, insurance and motorbikes. Participants included Air Europa, HM Hoteles, Grupo La Vasca and Ona Clinic, among others.

Participants praised the organisation. One participant, Dr Javier Beut, said good organisation is always noticeable, adding that the relaxed atmosphere allowed conversations to flow naturally, without forced networking.

A short golf clinic also introduced 28 beginners to the game, reflecting the event’s open approach.

Food

The day began with a breakfast from the historic Palma café Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo, with coffee, ensaïmadas and quartos. Grupo La Vasca served a snack halfway round the course, and after the round players gathered at the clubhouse restaurant for drinks, lunch, the prize-giving and a raffle with prizes worth more than €10,000, including trips, hotel stays and gastronomic experiences.

Golf in Mallorca

Golf Maioris is one of the many courses that have made Mallorca a major golf destination, particularly outside the summer months, when mild temperatures attract players from northern Europe. Events like this one combine the sport’s appeal with business and social life on the island.

The organisers say the success of the first edition sets the stage for future tournaments.
